Condos and Christmas

Condos and Christmas

By Condo Culture

As we kiss pumpkin-everything goodbye, we welcome all that is bright and jolly! Come to think of it, isn’t it crazy to know that the holidays are just a few weeks away?! You can be rest assured that today’s topic isn’t about Christmas home decor, Christmas gifts, candy canes and Santa Claus - we’re saving that for December!

The joys of this time of year comes as we form together as a community and tune into fun seasonal events with our family and close friends. There’s some exciting things happening in Kitchener-Waterloo and Hamilton over the next couple of weeks and we wanted to extend a warm invitation to you.

Waterloo Region:

Guess who’s comin’ to town?! Santa Claus parades will kick off the holiday season this weekend in Waterloo Region. They will wind through streets of condo buildings and will assuredly making thousands of kids super happy.

__Kitchener-Waterloo

Tomorrow: The parade will start at the Cedar Street and King Street intersection around 10:30 AM.

__Cambridge

Tomorrow: The 44th annual parade (and one of the few parades that happen at night in this region) will travel along Hespeler Road starting at 6 PM.

Guelph

Sunday: Moments before the parade starts, at 1:00 PM, the Santa Run will take place with participants dressing up like Santa and running the parade route. The parade route begins at Norfolk Street and Powell Street intersection and will end at City Hall. After the parade you can make your way to the Old Quebec Shoppes for hot apple cider and enjoy a Victorian-themed event until 5 PM.

Hamilton:

Window Wonderland

On Friday, November 24th between 6:30 PM and 9:30 PM, there’s going to be some serious holiday spirit roaming Locke Street South and we want you and your family to partake in the fun! The Locke Street Christmas tree will be lit at 7 PM (in the lot beside the West Town). The tree lighting will be followed by a 30 to 45 minute community Christmas carol sing-along led by the St. Joseph’s Catholic Elementary School Choir. Many merchants will stay open until 9:30PM that evening to accommodate those who want to get a head start on their Christmas shopping.

And while other shops contribute to the festive mood by offering free bevies like mulled cider and wine, cookies and other treats, we’ve decided to make things a little sweeter and will be serving tasty hot chocolate here at Condo Culture. So be sure to swing in, warm up and chat condos, Christmas, and anything in between!

So whether you're enjoying the parades in the Waterloo Region this weekend or strolling along Locke Street and admiring the beautiful Christmas window displays in Hamilton next weekend, let’s kick off the holiday season the right way, let’s celebrate together!
